Anniversaries, birthdays, and other significant dates can bring grief closer to the surface, even when everyday life has become more manageable.
That does not usually mean you are back at the beginning. It often means the date carries emotional weight.
What may help:
- keeping the day lighter where possible
- letting trusted people know the date may be difficult
- lowering pressure on yourself
- having somewhere steady to speak if the feelings feel hard to carry alone
