A calm place to begin
Living with concerns about alcohol, drugs or behavioural addiction can feel lonely, exhausting or difficult to speak about. You may be trying to manage quietly while work, relationships, finances or everyday life feel harder than they used to.
Counselling offers a private, non-judgemental space to talk through what is happening and consider practical next steps at a pace that feels manageable.
Support for you, or for someone close to you
You do not need to be certain that you have an addiction before getting in touch. You may simply be worried about a pattern, the effect it is having on your life, or a situation that feels difficult to change.
I also support partners, parents, adult children and other family members affected by someone else’s addiction. It can be confusing to care about somebody while also feeling hurt, anxious, angry or unsure how to help. Counselling can provide space to talk about your own wellbeing, boundaries and next steps.
What we may explore together
Each person’s situation is different. Counselling may give you time to explore:
- The pressures, situations or feelings that make things harder.
- The impact on relationships, family life or work.
- Ways to communicate more clearly where this feels appropriate.
- Practical coping routines and sources of support.
- Boundaries that protect your own wellbeing.
- What a manageable next step could look like for you.
There is no expectation to have the right words or a complete plan before you make contact.
A confidential first conversation
The first step can be a short phone call, email or enquiry form. You can simply say that you would like to talk about addiction concerns, either for yourself or somebody close to you. We can then discuss whether counselling with me feels like the right next step.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality is of the utmost importance to me when working with clients.
