What this can feel like
Grief can affect sleep, mood, concentration, relationships and everyday routines. Some days may feel numb or manageable, while others feel intense or unpredictable. There is no single timetable or correct way to experience a loss.
People sometimes seek bereavement counselling when they feel isolated in their grief, when difficult dates or reminders are approaching, or when the practical strain of a loss is becoming hard to carry alone.
Bereavement counselling in Kanturk and County Cork
Marie’s practice is based in Kanturk. If you are considering bereavement counselling after a death or another significant loss, a short enquiry is enough to begin. You do not need to explain every detail in your first message.
How counselling may help
Counselling offers a private place to speak about the person who died, the circumstances of the loss, your memories and what life feels like now. The pace does not have to be forced, and support should not try to make grief feel tidy or small.
A first conversation can focus on what is most present for you. You do not need to tell the whole story at once or know what you want the outcome to be.
What we might work on together
- Making room for grief in daily life.
- Coping with difficult dates, places and reminders.
- Managing strain on work, family life and relationships.
- Finding steady routines during a difficult period.
- Talking about guilt, anger, numbness or feelings that are hard to share elsewhere.
How to start
You can enquire by phone, email or the short contact form. Asking about availability is enough for a first message.

Wider bereavement support
The Irish Hospice Foundation Bereavement and Loss Hub provides trusted information, signposting and a Bereavement Support Line. Marie’s Resources page also lists official Irish supports.
This counselling practice is not an emergency or crisis service. If you or someone else is in immediate danger, call 112 or 999.
